The death of the printing press
Is there still need in the market for printers? Books are becoming e-books, less need for physical brochures as the website is the brochure you can always have uptodate. Advertising in magazines is dying as companies are moving their advertising dollar to the internet in all its forms, rather than billboards the internet is the billboard people see.
Search Engine Optimisation is even becoming slightly old school as people are specialising in Facebook marketing, managing Twitter, onlineĀ collaboration, and email marketing. Emails are now becoming outdated as people use Facebook to communicate, and smartphones become the centre of our communication network.
To keep up, the printing industry certainly has to change, and use their design skills in this new internet age.
As with every discipline in life, we can only be especially good at a small number of things. We only have room in our lives to be passionate about a small number of things. We survive in teams, where we divide up our tasks to those that have the skills and passion.
My passion is Search Engine Optimisation.
